William “Bill” F. Lunser of St. Augusta, MN, passed away on May 4th, 2026. He was born on November 3rd, 1936 in Long Prairie.

He often talked fondly of his upbringing with his loving parents and two siblings. In his memoir, he reflected as a young child “...during the war, things like bubble gum and marshmallows were not to be had. Love, on the other hand, was in abundance. Life was good.” After graduating high school, Bill married Yvonne
(Schultz) Lunser in 1959 and they were blessed with three children.

Bill worked as a Land Surveyor, serving the central MN area for 38+ years until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed “tinkering” in his garage, rebuilding old cars, and prided himself for never buying something he could make himself.

Bill is survived by his three sons, Clayton, Mike, and Matt (Shannon); 5 grandchildren, Max, Lucy, Gabriel, Samuel, and Chloe; and sister Phyllis (Lunser) Wodash.

He is preceded in death by his wife Yvonne (Schultz) Lunser, his parents, Alex and Doris (Warden) Lunser, and brother, Gerald Lunser.

Bill was a very loving and dedicated father and husband. Whether times of great joy and prosperity or in times of deep trial and tribulation, Bill often and adamantly professed his faith and love in our Lord Jesus Christ and gave thanks to God for what he considered a very full and abundant life.

A graveside service is planned for May 9th, 2026, at 11am, at Zion Cemetery, 20122 Ember Drive, Round Prairie, MN 56347, immediately followed by a celebration of life luncheon at American Legion, 714 Commerce Rd, Long Prairie, MN 56347.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Quiet Oaks Hospice.
