Vicki Heid, a 75-year-old of Clarissa, passed away on January 16, 2026, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Iten Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 4:00 PM. A visitation will take place one hour prior at the chapel.

Vicki Jo (Stevens) Heid was born on September 9, 1950, in Worthington, Minnesota, to Daniel and Claire (Nystrom) Stevens. She grew up in Worthington and graduated from Worthington High School, where she enjoyed being part of the marching band and proudly led the group with her baton twirling.

Following high school, Vicki married Chris Christensen, and together they made their home in Cushing, Minnesota. They were blessed with two sons, Nick and Chet. Vicki truly cherished being a mother and took great pride in her boys, always supporting and encouraging them in all their activities.

In 1981, Vicki purchased The Café in Browerville with Doris Winter. Together, they owned and operated the café for over 20 years, creating a welcoming place for the community to gather. Vicki was also proud to serve her community as a member of the Browerville City Council.

On September 20, 1991, Vicki married Robert Heid. She worked for IWCO in Little Falls for 17 years before moving on to a role she dearly loved—serving as the cook at Christ the King Catholic School. Vicki spoke often and fondly of the students and staff, holding them close to her heart. Later, she worked part-time at Special Again in Clarissa. Vicki had a strong work ethic and was always proud of the work she did.

Vicki enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and had a gift for making people feel welcome. She adored her grandchildren and was incredibly proud of each one. Cooking and feeding others brought her great joy, food was truly her love language. She also deeply loved her dogs, and it was rare to see Vicki and Bob without them close by. She never met a garage sale or thrift store she could pass up. Vicki was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Claire Stevens; her brother, Michael Stevens; and her sister-in-law, Judy Stevens.

Vicki is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Robert Heid; her brother, Daniel Stevens; her sons, Nick Christensen and Chet (Amy) Christensen; stepchildren, Corey (Gail) Heid and Kimberly (Bob) Bryniarski; sisters-in-law, Jan Heid, Linda Heid (Bill Warrick) and Cindy Stevens; grandchildren, Tyler and Mackenzie Christensen, Harrison (Suzy) Christensen, Dylan Christensen, Cooper Christensen, Mitchell (Allegra) Heid, Grant (Kendra) Heid, Rakel (Dakota) Tresco, and Ali Bryniarski; five great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
