Vera Goligowski, 100, of Browerville, passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by family on May 6, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville, with Fr. Mitchell Bechtold officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Christian Mother's Rosary will be held at 9:45 am. Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, Browerville.
Vera was born on October 21, 1920, in Crosby, MN, to John and Minnie (Fuller) Thompson. She graduated from Wadena High School and then attended Normal School in Walker. She married Ardeen Goligowski on June 20, 1942. Vera taught in many country schools in the area and Staples High School. She earned her teaching degree from Bemidji State University and retired from teaching in 1983. Vera and Ardeen wintered in Texas for several years. While there they volunteered at local schools and tutored children.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie, stepmother, Irene, husband, Ardeen, daughter, Judy Farber, great granddaughter, Madison Rushmeyer; siblings: Vernon, Dale, Janice, and infant brother, Eugene. She is survived by her children: Bob (Audrey) Goligowski, Peggy (Harold) Freyholtz, Kathryn (Richard) Motl, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Steven (Nancy) Goligowski, Loren (Merilee) Goligowski, and son-in-law, Gary (Lenore) Farber; 14 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.
