Stephanie (Santer) Foote, age 55 of Melrose, born and raised in Browerville, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Monday, October 25, 2021.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service taking place at 7:00 PM at the Church. Visitation will continue the day of Mass from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.

Visitations and Mass are all taking place at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mother of Mercy Home, 230 Church Avenue PO Box 676, in Albany, Minnesota 56307

Stephanie Ann Santer was born on October 19, 1966, the daughter of George and MaryJo (Roman) Santer of Browerville, Minnesota.  Steph graduated from Browerville High School and then attended Alexandria Technical College. After college Steph started what would be an almost a 30-year career as a cook in medical facilities. Working hard to make sure the nutritional needs and wants of her residents were met on a day-to-day need. Over the years she made special bonds with her residents and became a consistent person in their lives.  
Years before in elementary school, Steph crossed paths with a local boy by the name of Darrin Foote. Growing up in a small town and having mutual friends, made them friends also. Their friendship grew as they matured and the two were united in marriage on August 27, 1993. The couple had one son, Justin. A few years later the couple was blessed with another son Devin. They raised their now family of four in the small town of Melrose, creating a home filled with laughter and love. Steph was a natural caregiver starting out as a kid, caring for her younger siblings. She was the older sister who taught her siblings how to drive on the farm and grew into the young woman who poured her heart into taking care of everyone else’s needs.  Steph in her down time could be found out fishing with her love Darrin, riding motorcycle our camping as a family.  She loved to have bonfires and cooking a hot breakfast over the open flames. Pranks were a constant in their home, whether it was having her taste sour skittles, which could not leave her mouth fast enough, to making her laugh and teasing. Her frequent cold feet were warmed by sitting on them, while visiting about their day.  Her grandkids brought such joy to her life, giving them extra hugs and snuggles, making her smile with pride.
The world needs more people like Steph. She was a true blessing to all who met her and will be deeply missed.

On Monday, October 25, 2021, Steph passed away at her home surrounded by her family. The last two of her 55 years on earth having fought hard to beat cancer.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. 

She is survived by her husband, Darrin; sons, Justin (Amber) Foote and their children, Alice and Isaac, Devin (Liz) Foote; parents, George and MaryJo Santer; sister, Angie Johnson; brother, Nick Santer; mother and father -in-law, Doug and MaryJo Foote: brother-in-law, Jason (Carla) Foote; aunts and uncles, Ron (Gerri) Roman, Jeanice Adelman, Joseph (Carole) Santer, Arleen Sutton, Yvonne Zenner, Alvina Waldorf; and many cousins and friends.
