Roselyn Kortuem 84 year old of Eagle Bend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.

A memorial service will take place on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place at the church one-hour prior. A time of fellowship will follow the service.  

Roselyn Kortuem was born on February 11, 1939, to Frank and Sophie (Neubauer) Petron in Hartford
Township. Growing up the seventh of nine children to Polish parents, she quickly learned the skills of
hard work, loyalty and family love. As the mother of five children herself, that hard work, loyalty and
love continued. Roselyn was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, sewed many quilts, loved to
embroider, and baked numerous goodies for family and friends. She was known to always have supper
on the table even after a full day at one of her many jobs. She was a caregiver, daycare provider, janitor
for her church and worked for the USPS, although her favorite job was to care for her family. In 1975,
she bought her home in Eagle Bend and in her spare time, she planted beautiful flowers and vegetable
gardens, carefully canning and preserving her bounty. The last ten years, as her health declined,
Roselyn’s motto became perseverance, never give up!
Roselyn leaves behind her children: Ronald Kortuem, Brian (Lynette) Kortuem and Carol (David)
Cantleberry. Sisters; Helen (Elmer) Bruder, Delores Borchert, JoAnn (Richard) Stach and Lorraine Sadlo.
Grandchildren Devlin, Travis, Denver, Heidi, Samantha and eleven great grandchildren.
Roselyn is proceeded in death by her parents, infant son Timmy, daughter Lorie Marcyes, brothers; Jim
and Frankie Petron, sisters; Maryann Tepley and Genevieve Shinabarger.
