Ronald Lee Rickbeil

Ronald "Ron" Rickbeil passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa. Ron was 68 years old.

A Prayer Service will take place on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville, followed by a time of food, fellowship and celebration of the life Ron Lived, in the church luncheon hall. A burial will not be taking place at this time.

On September 14, 1954, a son was born to Leland and Florence (Luke) Rickbeil of Browerville, Minnesota. Ronald Lee “Ron” was one of five children to the couple. He was raised in rural Browerville and graduated from Browerville high school. On May 3, 1975, Ron married his high school sweetheart Judy Drayna. The couple would soon be blessed with two sons, Brian, and Jason. After Ron graduated from high school, he attended Wadena Technical College to get his electrician’s license. He worked for two years, while farming before and after work. After those two years he went full-time in his hog farm, raising his family. Ron worked many hours on the farm, ensuring that the animals were cared for and always working to maintain the business.

When his family was young, in their down time they would go camping, snowmobiling, and tried to get onto the lake with the boat as much as possible. Ron was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the local snowmobile club, he even was given the opportunity to be president, after missing the voting meeting. An offer to take a casino trip was rarely turned down. He enjoyed becoming a grandpa, watching the next generation grow. He was even working on teaching them different card games, knowing eventually they would beat him. Ron was a quiet gentle soul. A best friend and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa, Ron took his last breath here on earth after a strong battle. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Judy; sons, Brian Rickbeil, Jason (Trista) Rickbeil; grandchildren, Bryce, Ava, Quinten, Lucy, Ellie, and Wyatt Rickbeil; mother, Florence Rickbeil; siblings, Hollis (Pam) Rickbeil, Terry Rickbeil, Kevin (Ruth) Rickbeil and Dawn (Greg) Feda. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Leland; and sister-in-law, Marie Rickbeil.
