Robert “Bob” Sadlo was born in Long Prairie, Minnesota, and raised in Clarissa. He graduated from Staples High School, where the Sadlo brothers became well known on the wrestling mat, collecting as many pins as they could along the way. Following high school, Bob attended masonry school and went on to build a long career in construction. His careful craftsmanship can still be found in many homes throughout the area, especially in the fireplaces he laid brick by brick, creating lasting works of art through his trade. Later in life, Bob underwent a kidney transplant, which led him to slow down professionally, taking on smaller jobs here and there. Even so, one of his proudest accomplishments was building the forever home where he and his family created countless memories. Outside of work, Bob loved spending time in the deer stand searching for “the big one”. Frequently he could be found in the yard working or shop making something for Dolly.

It was during his younger years at the local drive-in that Bob first noticed a young woman named Rosemarie. He asked his aunt to introduce him to her, though everyone knew her best as Dolly. From that moment on, the rest was history. The couple was united in marriage on August 19, 1978, and together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family. Their union was blessed with one son, Cole.

Dolly was born on May 1, 1955, in Bertha, Minnesota, the daughter of Larry and Patricia (Taylor) Pankratz. She was raised in Browerville and grew into the warm, energetic, and outgoing woman so many came to love. Dolly never met a stranger, and her vibrant personality made her a natural fit for her work at the local bank, where she served for many years as a teller and customer service representative. Her friendly smile welcomed countless customers through the doors, and if Dolly was helping you, you knew things would be done right. She truly found joy in caring for and helping others.

Family meant everything to Dolly. She was often the planner behind family gatherings and celebrations, believing deeply in the importance of togetherness. Her homemade cinnamon rolls became a favorite tradition, filling the house with a warm and comforting aroma that made everyone feel at home. Above all else, Bob and Dolly treasured their family. Their greatest joy came in becoming grandparents, and the grandchildren held a special place in both of their hearts. Whenever the grandkids came over, everything else could wait. Bob and Dolly cherished every moment spent together with them, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

Bob passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 68. Just a few short months later, after suffering a major medical event, Dolly joined him in Heaven on May 2, 2026, only one day after her 71st birthday.

Together, they leave behind their beloved son, Cole (Jenny) Sadlo, and their two children, Kaylee and Brayden Sadlo, the true apples of Grandpa and Grandma’s eyes. They are also lovingly remembered by Bob’s siblings, Sam (Cathy) Sadlo, Deb (Steve) Olson, and Julie (Dale) Massman; along with many nieces, nephews, colleagues, and dear friends they met throughout the years.

Bob and Dolly were preceded in death by their parents, Roman and Ann Sadlo, and Larry and Patricia Pankratz; as well as Bob’s brother, Mike Sadlo.
