Robert "Bob" Romaine Host passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 83. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Friday, May 24, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 3:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Christ the King Cemetery following the service.

Robert (Bob) Romaine Host passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was born one of thirteen children to Eugene and Roselind (Luke) Host of Browerville on December 31, 1940, in Long Prairie, Minnesota.

Bob married Sharon Bican on September 21, 1959, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Clarissa, and from that day, he has never taken off his wedding ring. Together, they raised three children, ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He began working for local farmers and the Browerville Creamery before Bob and Sharon started their own dairy farm. After retiring from farming in 2002, he moved to Clarissa and enjoyed going to auctions, buying machinery for area farmers, hauling for the Amish, and spending time with friends and family.

Bob was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. A gentle giant, he cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called him "Papa Bob." He enjoyed word search books, jigsaw puzzles, and playing four-point smear.

Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Sharon (Bican) Host; Children: Gina (Duane) VanHeel, Donna Smith, and Dale Host; Grandchildren: Jenilee (Kevin) Schaekel, Jalisa (TJ) Warner, Lynsie (Josh) Moeschl, Rachel (Erik) Lien, Madison (Adam) Wood, Tarissa (Patrick Wicklund) Host, Jordan (Mackenzie Ahrendt) Host, Justin (Lauren Stormoen) Host, and Brady Host; Great-grandchildren: Otto, Emmett, and Isaac Schaekel; Bennett, Thomas, and Callen Warner;  Zooey and Ben Moeschl; Peighton, Charlotte, and Landon Lien; Cameryn and Evelyn Wood; and Kolly Host; Siblings: Carol Lisson, Gerald Host, John (Margie) Host, Sharon (Douglas) Waletzko, Leon (Julie) Host, Joan (Arnold) Abrahamson, and Randy Host; Sisters-in-law: Anne and Gloria Host.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Roselind (Luke) Host; Sisters: Eugenia (Robert) Lisson and Arlis Bolitho; Brothers: Larry, Norm, and LeeRoy Host; Sister-in-laws: Jane and Lori Host; Grandson: Brandon Host.
