Robert “Bob” Heid of Browerville passed away at the Lakewood Staples hospital on April 8, 2026. He was 80 years old.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville.

A visitation will take place that day, starting at 11:00 AM until the start of the funeral. A rosary will be prayed at 10:45 AM. Burial will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery.

Robert Allen Heid was born on April 6, 1946, to Agnes (Nalezny) and George Heid in Long Prairie, Minnesota. He grew up in Browerville and graduated from Browerville High School in 1964. After high school, he attended Alexandria Technical College, where he earned a degree in Law Enforcement.

Bob went on to serve the Browerville community as Police Chief for 21 years. He also dedicated his time to the Browerville Fire Department for 40 years and the Browerville Ambulance for 37 years. In addition, he served on the Browerville City Council for 8 years, and as Mayor for 8 years. Bob took great pride in serving his community, including his time working at the Café and the Browerville Liquor Store. He was also a member of the Browerville Lions Club, The Knights of Columbus and Christ the King Catholic Church.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, shaking dice, attending the Friday night BLS meat raffles, and cooking—where there was a surprise in every dish!!

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vicki, of 34 years; and his brothers, Charles (wife Linda) and Ken Heid.

He is survived by his children: Corey (Gail) Heid and Kimberly (Bob) Bryniarski; stepchildren Nick Christensen and Chet (Amy) Christensen; grandchildren Mitchell (Allegra) Heid, Grant (Kendra) Heid, Rakel (Dakota) Tresco, and Ali (Richard Zejdlik) Bryniarski; step-grandchildren Tyler and Mackenzie Christensen, Harrison (Suzy) Christensen, Dylan Christensen, and Cooper Christensen; and great-grandchildren Pryor and Stevie Heid, and Brooklyn, Maya, and Nora Tresco.

He is also survived by his sister Linda Heid (Bill Warrick), sister-in-law Jan Heid, brother-in-law Dan Stevens, and sister-in-law Cindy Stevens, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends in the surrounding communities.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
