Richard William Kaluza, 82, of Sartell and formerly of Browerville, passed away on December 14, 2025, at Country Manor in Sartell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Iten Funeral Home in Browerville. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:45 PM and a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue the day of the funeral, one hour before Mass at the church. Burial will immediately follow at the church cemetery.
Richard William was born on February 12, 1943, the son of Peter and Ida Kaluza of Browerville. He graduated from Browerville High School in 1961, where he was active in many sports. Richard excelled in competition, lettering in football, basketball, baseball, and track. In track, he held school records in the 100-yard dash and hurdles. He received an appointment from Senator Eugene McCarthy to attend the US Naval Academy in Annapolis; he was honorably discharged and returned to Minnesota to attend St. Cloud State. When his dad passed away in 1965, he came back to the farm to help until the farm sold. He returned to college, graduating in 1970 with a degree in Business administration and accounting. He became a certified public accountant and worked several years at Cornelius Company. He started his own company until he retired. Accounting proved to be a unique niche for him.
When he was not busy working, Richard enjoyed helping others. He was a master at being given a task and ensuring it was done and done correctly. His sense of humor made him an easy and enjoyable friend. He spent time at the family farm, savoring extra moments with his siblings and other relatives. His generous heart extended in many directions, whether he volunteered at the catholic school or food shelf, he lived a truly selfless life.
He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, shaking dice, sudoku, solving jigsaw puzzles, and fishing with his brothers at the cabin.
On Sunday, December 14, 2025, Richard’s time here on earth came to an end. He leaves behind his siblings, Ray (Linda) Kaluza, Margaret (Dave) Bushlack, Mary Kaluza-Riviere, Anne (Rodney) Stowell; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was reunited in heaven with his parents, Peter and Ida; and brothers, Peter, Tom, Steve, Jake and Bill.
Memorials are preferred to the Christ the King School Endowment fund or the Browerville Food Shelf. Richard’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Country Manor in Sartell and Moments Hospice, for their exceptional care for their brother in his final years and moments here on earth.
