Randall "Randy" Gene Sipe

Randall "Randy" Sipe, formerly of rural Long Prairie, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. He was 73 years old.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Iten Funeral Home in Browervile, at 2:00 PM, friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at the Pleasant Mound Cemetery in Rural Clotho. 

Randall Gene Sipe was born on February 17, 1948, the son of Nyle and Marian (Mutterer) Sipe of Rockford, Minnesota. Randy’s family in 1982 moved to a farm outside Long Prairie Minnesota. After high school, Randy joined the United States Army, serving his country for two years. After his honorable discharge, he started working as a truck driver, working to become an owner operator for the next 50 years.

In 1972 Randy married Patricia Varner, the couple years later separated, but with their union, Randy gained two sons, Todd and Shawn. The couple would add another son to their family, Kristopher. Years later Randy remarried, the couple had a daughter, they named her Dakota Anne.

Trucking was his job, his hobby and passion, he truly enjoyed the open road and all the scenery as he traveled the United States. When Randy was not on the road trucking, he would spend time on their family farm. Eventually, his youngest son Kristopher purchased his own farm, and Randy continued to spend free time there enjoying farm life.

On Monday, January 24, 2022, Randy passed away at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. He was 73 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Shawn. He is survived by his sons, Todd (Bonnie) and their daughter Johanna, of Aldie, VA, Kris (Beth) of Long Prairie, daughter Dakota Anne of Minneapolis and grandson Adam Fearing of Long Prairie, and brother Gary (Barb) Sipe of Rockford, MN and nephews Matthew (Julie), Andrew (Cassie) and Benjamin (Nikki) Sipe.
