Patricia Ann (Skeesick) Katterhagen

Patricia "Pat" Katterhagen of Long Prairie, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Centra Care-Long Prairie Nursing Home. She was 84 years. old.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM that morning at the church with a rosary being prayed at 8:30 AM, also at the church.

Burial will immediately follow the mass at the church cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.

A zoom meeting has been set up to view Patricia's funeral service.

Patricia “Pat” Ann was born on July 16, 1938, the daughter of Earl and Laura (Osterberg) Skeesick of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Patricia graduated from Motley High School in 1956. Pat married Roger Katterhagen on November 9, 1959, in Motley.  The couple for a short time lived in Minneapolis, but their hearts pulled to more laid-back living. The couple moved to Hartford Township, where Roger grew up and started a family. They were blessed with seven children, Steve, Sue, Julie, Tom, Karen, Brian, and Gary. The couple raised their family out in the country where they could run freely and enjoy nature.  Pat always had a garden; it gave her a sense of accomplishment that she was able to grow food and then froze or canned to feed her ever-growing family.

When she was not caring for her family, she enjoyed playing cards, working on a puzzle, reading, and watching old westerns.  An invitation from family or a friend to the casino, never got turned down. Pat and Roger made countless memories over the years as they wintered in Texas. Pat was a natural caretaker, always willing to visit with you, learning about what was new in life.

Pat passed away peacefully to join Roger in heaven, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Centracare-Long Prairie Nursing Home. She was 84 years old. Pat leaves behind her children, Steve (Stella) Katterhagen of Long Prairie, Sue (John) Prill of Long Prairie, Julie (Gene) Mueller of Baxter, Tom (Kozue) Katterhagen of Japan, Karen (Troy) Skarolid of Baxter, Brian (Janet) Katterhagen of Long Prairie, Gary (Jessica) Katterhagen of Brainerd;15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Roger; parents, Earl and Laura Skeesick; sisters Phyllis Skeesick, and Darlene (Les) Sarell; great-grandchild, Hayes Mueller.
