A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clarissa at 12 Noon. Visitation will take place the day of Mass at the church from 10:30 AM to the start of the service. Burial will immediately follow at the church cemetery.

Myra Pauline was born on July 18, 1928, the second youngest child of Joseph and Anna (Berendsen) Hengemuhle of rural Long Prairie.  My attended school through the seventh grade, she then started working in a local restaurant until she was older, and then she moved to the cities where she waitressed at the railroad station.  After working in the big city her sister Nora introduced her to a young man by the name of Charles Duklet. The two married and were blessed with two children, Rodney and Patricia, they moved home to the farm they had purchased in Todd County. In 1952 they moved the family to Minneapolis and then back to the farm in 1958.  The couple purchased a farm in rural Clarissa. Charles worked during the week in Minneapolis for Allis Chalmers, so it was Myra who ran the farm with the help of their children. She loved it! She enjoyed her labor of love, being with the animals, watching the seeds grow until the harvest, and the beauty of nature. Myra loved to be busy, so the farm life and tending to their home and yard, were perfect for her.  She did enjoy her time with the flower club, the Red Hat Club, and spending time at the Clarissa Senior Center and volunteering at many places such as the blood drives, food shelf, and giving her time to the church. Because of her volunteering, Myra was crowned Todd County Senior Citizen Queen. What she enjoyed the most her time with her family. She found great joy and loved each and every one of them with her whole heart. If you entered her home, you knew she loved to decorate! She always went to great detail to get things just right. Christmas was Myra’s favorite! Her eyes twinkled with excitement as she decorated, baked, and prepared gifts ready for her loved ones. In her downtime Myra could be found out and about shopping, looking for more knick-knacks to make her home and collection complete. After Myra and Charles retired from farming, they sold the farm and moved to town. Myra needed something to do to keep busy, so she got a job at the meat market and the hardware store. These were perfect for her outgoing personality and friendly smile. These attributes will be deeply missed by all who met her.

Myra passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa with her family by her side where Myra lived the last eight years of her 94 years on earth. She leaves behind her Children, Rodney (Kathy) Duklet, and Pat (Dennis) Hinzmann; grandchildren, Kim (Daniel) Kramer, Chad (Sarah) Duklet, and Rob (Claire) Duklet; eight great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends and “Grandma’s Little visitor Carson”.  She was preceded by her husband, Charles: siblings, Nona, Nora, Lila, Josie, Polly, Norman, Donna, and their spouses.
