Matthew "Petey" Ryan Peter

Matthew "Petey" R. Peter age 41 of Little Falls, died on Monday, March 14, 2022, as a result of an automobile accident.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM in Little Falls at the Living Hope Church. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral a the church. A private family burial will follow. arrangements for Matthew are with the Iten Funeral Home of Browerville, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Matthew Ryan Peter was born on January 7, 1981, the son of Richard and Jackie Peter of Little Falls. While in grade school and high school Matthew could be found running and tackling on the football field! He was passionate about the sport and enjoyed the competition and comradery.  He graduated from Little Falls High School. Soon after he started working full time in the cement construction business. His hard work ethic and willingness to learn new things, made him a valuable employee and coworker. Matthew or as many knew him  “Petey” was always willing to help out friends and family with projects, loving to stay busy and help anyone that needed it. When he had spare time, he could be found on a local lake attempting to catch the next trophy. A true catch himself he was a man that knew his way around a kitchen. He spent many afternoons and evenings cooking, smoking meat, baking his signature cookies or making maple syrup with his Dad. Matt was a generous person and would always share his creations with everyone.

His huge heart made him the “fun uncle”, always having a soft spot for kids. This soft spot grew even bigger with the birth of his daughter, Matilyn.  The always trustworthy responsible guy became a man, taking parenthood very seriously. He was devoted to his little girl and loved every minute they spent together.  Matilyn had the ability to bring his famous light up the room smile to his face every time he saw her.

Matthew passed away as a result of injuries obtained in a motor vehicle accident. He was 41 years old. He is survived by his daughter, Matilyn; parents, Richard Peter of Browerville, Jackie (Mike) Cade of Arizona; siblings, Melanie (Michael) Liyanage of Savage, MN,  Mitchell (Audrey) Peter of Otsego, MN; Nieces, Kiera, Kyla, Alivia and Adalyn; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

 Matthew is preceded in death by both sides of his paternal grandparents and many aunts.
