Matthew Michels

Matthew John Michels, 49 of Browerville, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Northshore Estates in Duluth. A Celebration of Life will be held for Matt on Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Clarissa Ballroom, from  5:00 pm. – 8:00 pm.

Matt was born February 21, 1972, to John and Linda (Noska) Michels in Robbinsdale. He was baptized at St. Vincent DePaul in Osseo and received his First Holy Communion and was Confirmed at St. Isidore’s in Moran Township.

Matt and his sister, Elizabeth were raised north of Browerville by their grandparents, Elmer, and Dolores Noska.  He graduated from the Staples-Motley High School, where he was active in several sports.  He was employed for over 22 years at Precision Metal Craft in Staples.  Matt enjoyed fishing, hunting and many outdoor sports along with “Dr.Phil”.

Matt is preceded in death by his parents, John and Linda, grandparents, Elmer and Dolores Noska and Howard and Kathryn Michels, uncle, Doug Noska and aunt, Jean (Michels) Coltiain.  He is survived by his sister Eliabeth A. (Paul) Kortie and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
