MaryLynn Rosenow Obituary

Marylynn Rosenow passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Centracare Long Prairie Hospital. Marylynn was 61 years old.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Peace United Church in Long Prairie. Visitation will take place one hour prior at the church.

MaryLynn Rosenow was born on November 8, 1961, the daughter of DeWayne and Lillian (Holler) Rosenow in Izmir, Turkey, where her dad was stationed in the Army.  The family eventually made their home in Long Prairie.  MaryLynn graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1980, and she soon after started working at Banta. Her caring and outgoing personality were great attributes for her as she worked at various nursing homes in dietary and nursing assistant roles. She later would be employed at the Todd County Sheriff’s Office and the Kandiyohi Sheriffs' office as a jailer for many years. On May 7, 1983, MaryLynn was united in marriage to John Fritzlar.  Their marriage later dissolved but they were blessed with two beautiful children, Troy and Ammy.

MaryLynn, when she was not working, loved to be busy. You could find her at home putting together something crafty that she envisioned in her mind and made into a reality. She loved a good deal from a thrift shop or any shopping mall. MaryLynn enjoyed decorating people’s homes, snuggling with her dogs, and planning trips with family and friends. Her grandbabies brought a twinkle to her eye and joy to her heart. She loved desserts and baking and enjoyed every minute of teaching her grandbabies different recipes and taking part in the taste testing!

In 2018 MaryLynn was diagnosed with breast cancer. She beat it, but later found out she had cancer again that had metastasized to her bones. She chose to live life to the fullest until her time here on earth was done.

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, MaryLynn took her last breath here on earth. She leaves behind her children, and Troy (Crystal) Fritzlar and Ammy (Tim) Woeste; grandchildren, Avery and Lauren Fitzlar and Alexis, Brooklyn, Paxton, Maverick Woeste; siblings, Barb Graves, Jim (Trina) Rosenow. MaryLynn is preceded in death by her parents, DeWayne and Lillian Rosenow; brother-in-law, Curt Graves.
