Marian Foss, 92 year old of Long Prairie, formerly of Elk River and Maple Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Long Prairie Health Care Center.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Tri County Alliance Church in Clearwater, Minnesota, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. After a time of fellowship, burial will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Nowthen.

Marion Alberta Iliff -Foss, came into the world on February 26, 1933, the daughter of James and Sarah (Thornley) Blake of Tamarack, Minnesota. In 1945 the family moved to Zimmerman, where they farmed. Marion graduated from Elk River High School with honors. Her high academic aptitude earned her a scholarship to attend college after high school. In 1953, Marion married James Iliff, their union was blessed with four children, Debra, Brian, Kevin, and Karie. In 1978, James lost his battle with Leukemia. Over time Marion was ready to open her heart again and met Roger Foss. The two were united in marriage in 1985, and the couple moved to Maple Lake.

Over the years Marion had various jobs, bank teller, clerk for the state, bookkeeper and home health aide. At an early age, she devoted her life to Christ. Her servants’ heart led her to spend many hours at the church helping with the various organizations, serving the Lord and experiencing his blessings firsthand. Marion and James were charter members and instrumental in the founding of the Elk River Alliance Church and Marion and Roger of the Tri-County Alliance Church. Marion loved gardening, growing and canning vegetables from her garden. Marion loved watching birds, especially cardinals. In describing her character, she was a prayer warrior. She prayed over and through most situations.  As a true servant of the Lord, Marion’s strong faith carried her through many of the up and down battles in life.

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Marion’s time on earth ended and she joined her Lord and Savior in heaven. She was 92 years young. She leaves behind her children, Debra Ann (Andrew) Kirchoff, Kevin Scott (Diane) Iliff, Karie Beth (Jon) Alexander; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and her deceased husband Roger’s family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Iliff and Roger Foss; infant son, Brian David Iliff; two sisters; and four brothers.
