Louise Muriel Bous, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on June 9, 2025.

Born on April 11, 1938, in Lamberton, Minnesota, Louise lived a life marked by kindness, honesty, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Growing up near Walnut Grove, Minnesota, Louise attended a one-room schoolhouse before graduating from Lamberton High School. Her pursuit of knowledge took her to Minneapolis, where she worked for the University of Minnesota while also attending classes. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Al Bous, from Long Prairie, Minnesota. They were married on September 8, 1956, and built a beautiful life together in Cottage Grove over 34 years.

Louise and Al were blessed with six children—three daughters and three sons—whom she raised with love and dedication. Despite the demanding role of motherhood, Louise remained active in various community activities. She was the bookkeeper for Al's Station, participated in the local bowling league, and was an enthusiastic member of the Ladies Lutheran Circle, garden club, card club, school PTA, and The Jaycees. Her passion for helping others extended to her work as a counselor for Washington County Human Services, where she spent many years offering support and guidance.

During their 65 years of marriage, Louise & Al traveled to nearly every Minnesota State park, many other states and to Canada. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and crocheted many blankets for grandchildren.  In 1992, the dream of a lake home came true on the shores of Lake Latimer in Long Prairie. Louise spent nearly every summer evening catching fish after a day tending her many gardens or galivanting with Al. Louise was a great hostess. As every family gathering grew larger, so did her decorating ability. Especially for Christmas.

Known for her open arms and attentive ear, Louise had a heart of gold and was always ready to offer wise advice. Her ability to keep a secret made her a trusted confidante to many. Louise's legacy of kindness and integrity will be cherished by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister Corinne; her daughters Alice Stephens (Mauricio), Lisa Kemp (Steve), and Amy Pavek; and her sons John (Julie), Paul, and Philip (Suann) Bous; 22 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Al Bous; parents, Sylvester & Alice (DeLong) Anderson; brother’s Wyman, Lynn & John and sister Faye.
