Lois Eileen (Lenz) Johnson passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa, MN at the age of 93. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, August 5, 2024, at United Methodist Church in Clarissa, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Lois will be buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Eagle Bend, MN, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa, MN.

Lois was born on December 16, 1930, in Germania Township, MN to Edward and Cora (Hirth) Lenz. She grew up on a farm and attended school in Eagle Bend. Lois was very smart and loved to learn. She always dreamed of attending college but was never able to. Lois met Wallace “Wally” Johnson and they were married at Eagle Bend Methodist Church in 1948. One night shortly after their wedding, the couple was “chivareed” by friends and family. Wally had the idea to drive away with Lois instead of greeting their unexpected guests. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children, Brian, Joanne, and Mark. While Wally worked as a traveling salesman, the family lived in a camper until 1954 when they purchased their first home in Mandan, ND. In 1964, the family moved to the second home ever built in Clarissa, MN. Lois was a devoted wife and mother who stayed home to raise their 3 children and to take care of everything that comes with running a household. After the kids were grown, she worked at Ringer and then Hart Press in Long Prairie as a bindery worker.

Lois and Wally took many trips throughout the United States and took one trip to Europe. The couple played cards every morning while they drank their coffee and loved to spend time fishing together. Lois played the piano and loved to listen to music. She was loving, caring, down to earth, and a faithful servant to Jesus and her Heavenly Father. Lois never had a bad thing to say about anybody or picked sides. She will be remembered for having a big heart and for loving to visit and laugh with friends and family.

Lois is survived by her children, Brian (Karla) Johnson, Joanne (Stanley) Hillman, and Mark (Sandy) Johnson; grandchildren, Paul Johnson, Melody Daniels, Shari Boettner, Christi Christian, Daniel Hillman, David Hillman, and Chance Johnson; great-grandchildren, Marshall Johnson, Samantha Daniels, Allie Daniels, Jesse Boettner, Shelby Boettner, Maggie Boettner, Madelyn Christian, Jacob Christian, Josef Christian, Mason Hillman, and Hunter Hillman. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wally; and she was the last of the Lenz siblings.
