Lois Boyer passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Long Prairie Care Center. She was 97 years old.
A Memorial Service in her honor will take place on Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Peace United Church in Long Prairie at 11:00 AM. Visitation take place one hour prior to the service at the church. After a time of fellowship, Lois will be buried at the Evergreen Cemetery in Long Prairie.
Lois Marie (Scott) Boyer was born on March 27, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Stanhope) Scott of Sauk Centre, Minnesota. She graduated from Sauk Centre High School. Lois was united in marriage on July 17, 1946, to George Boyer at the United Methodist Church in Long Prairie. The couple would be blessed with five children, Herbert, Raymond, Robert, Cheryl and Karen.
Lois and George enjoyed entertaining often with food and a game of cards. Friends were always welcome, she just added another leaf to the table for a few more. Her fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans were a family favorite. She was a long-time member of the Methodist church and the American Legion Auxiliary. In her down time, she would put together masterpiece quilts, bountiful gardens and sew many different items by hand. After retirement, Lois enjoyed many bus trips throughout the United States. Her beautiful, delightful soul will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Lois took her last breath on September 3, 2024, surrounded by her children. She was 97 years old. She leaves behind her children, Bob (Gina) Boyer, Cheryl Grau and Karen (James) Boyer; grandchildren, Kristie (Jeremy) Voge and children, Caden, Emma Ray, Payton and Mallory, Joshua (Amanda) Boyer and children, Jozlynn, Adam, Jordan and Annalise, Ryan Boyer, JMychal (Brooke) Grau, Heather (Brandon) Bishop and son Logan, Matthew Mitton, Abbey (Ben) Fuhrer and Makayla Gamble; sisters-in-law, Doris Scott, Phyllis Krause, Donna Boyer. She is preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, Frank and Ethel Scott; sons, Herbert and Raymond Boyer; and her siblings.
