LeRoy Uhlenkamp passed away at his home on July 18, 2024, at the age of 87.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clarissa, MN.  Visitation for LeRoy will be Monday, July 22, 4:00-7:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clarissa, MN and continue one hour before the service on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Burial and Military Honors will take place at the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. 

LeRoy Henry Uhlenkamp was born on October 30, 1936, in rural Meire Grove, Minnesota to Henry and Augusta (Kruse) Uhlenkamp. Born one of four children, he learned the value of hard
work and patience at a very early age. At the young age of 16 LeRoy helped build St. Joseph’s Church by wheeling wheelbarrows loads of cement for the foundation. LeRoy was drafted for
the Army and served from 1956 to 1958. In November 1958, LeRoy met his future wife Eileen Warner at the Clarissa Ballroom. In 1963 LeRoy bought the family farm from his father- in law
Edward Warner. On June 20, 1964, LeRoy and Eileen were united in marriage in a double wedding at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clarissa. The two began their beautiful life
together farming and raising their six children. The hard work of farming never dampened LeRoy’s spirit or quick wit. In 1985 LeRoy sold the cows and started farming for Don Hanson,
Hollis Dickenson and Harold Woge. In 2012 he retired from farming, and his son Edward and his wife, Nancy purchased the farm.

He enjoyed a good watermelon, fresh sweet corn, homemade fudge, fireworks, Ford pick-ups, Mercury cars, and his tractors, but nothing was more important than his family. He was slow to
anger, very intelligent, and always had a soft spot for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. LeRoy was very patient while waiting for Eileen while shopping or working at the
church. On Thursday, July 19,2024, LeRoy took his last breath here on earth at his home, surrounded by his family.

LeRoy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eileen; children, LeRoy Jr. (Kelly), Laurie (Travis) Lubitz, Edward (Nancy), Paul, and Timothy; Grandchildren, Berent, Kelsey, Robyn,
Bryan, Elena, Mackenzie, Trent, Mason, Kole, Carson, Alivia, and Oliver; Great Grandchildren, Elijah, Eleanna, Lydia, Luca, Lynx, and Bennett; daughter-in-law, Peggy Uhlenkamp; Sisters,
Mary Alice Kilby and MaryAnn Haag and Brother-in-law George Warner. LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Augusta; son, Mark; brother Anthony; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; three nephews; father and mother-in law, Edward and Mabel Warner.
