Kimberly Ann Maland passed away peacefully on July 3, 2021 with family by her side, at the age of 63.
Kim was born on April 8, 1958 to Kermit and Alice (Wolf) Maland in Long Prairie, MN. Kim graduated from Eagle Bend School in 1976. After graduating, she attended college in Jamestown, ND, then moved to Piedmont, SD, although her time in the Black Hills was short, it forever had a special place in her heart. She later moved back to Eagle Bend where she resided the rest of her life. Her greatest joy came on September 8th, 1984 when her daughter, Carly, was born.
Kim, a self-taught musician, spent most of her life doing what she loved, singing and playing guitar. She had a voice of an angel and was often sought out to play at numerous events and was part of several bands. It always seemed to be that no matter where she was or what kind of event she was at, a guitar would magically appear and she would be asked to sing. She would sing her heart out. She will always be remembered for her beautiful voice and the joy it brought others.
Kim was overjoyed when she became a Grandma to Peyton in 2009 and then to Summer in 2015. Being a Mom and Grandma to her girls brought her the greatest joy. She loved spending time with her grand-daughters, attending their activities and events. She was so proud of them. Her daily phone calls to check-in will greatly be missed
Kim will forever be missed and our lives forever changed. Our hearts will feel her loss until we can be reunited with her once again.
She will lovingly be remembered by her Mother, Alice Maland, Brother, Randy (Chris) Maland. Daughter, Carly (Jared) Roberts, Granddaughters, Peyton and Summer. Significant Other, Russel Lewis. Nephews: Shane (Kelly) Maland, Jesse (Katie) Maland. Nieces: Darcy (Bill) Brady, Anna (Nathan) Ernst. Also will be missed by multiple cousins, extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her Father, Kermit Maland, Brothers, Ricky and Steven Maland. Grandparents: Miles and Velma Maland, Dorothy and Jasper Wolf, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Blessed be her memory.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Nelson Park in Eagle Bend. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a service to follow.
