Joseph Tuma, 69, of Clarissa, passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2021.   A Graveside service  will be held for Joe on October 16, 2021, 12:30 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarissa with a Celebration of Life following at the Clarissa Senior Center. 

Joseph Dale was born December 10, 1951, in Grafton, North Dakota to Louis & Lorraine (Duklet) Tuma.  He lived in Minneapolis until the early 60’s when they moved to Clarissa.  He graduated from Clarissa High School in 1969.   After graduation, Joe attended Detroit Lakes Technical College in auto body.   Joe worked at Lindeman’s Auto Body in Bertha and Gosiak Welding in Eagle Bend.  His last employment which he enjoyed, was a custodian with the Bertha School District.

Joe liked to do many things including listening to old country music and 50’s & 60’s rock, motorcycles, crossword puzzles, scratch off lottery and doing welding and painting for friends and neighbors.  Joe was a well-liked person, he liked his time at home, but had many friends.  He never married but will be missed by his special friend Jodi Johnson. 

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Louis & Lorraine Tuma.  He is survived by his brother James (Elaine), nephews:  David and his daughter Dusty Rose Vezner, Steve (Jolene) and son Jaxon, good friends,  Roland “Otto” & Rhonda Ottomoeller and many cousins in Minnesota and North Dakota who will forever remember and miss him.
