Jeffrey Hedlund, 46, of Baxter, passed away on March 18, 2020. Jeff was born May 30, 1973, to Wally & Judy (Illies) Hedlund. He graduated from the Long Prairie Grey Eagle High School in 1991, and from the University of Minnesota Mankato in 1996, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science and Geography. Following graduation, Jeff was employed by the University of Minnesota Mankato in the Water Resources Department as a GIS Specialist. In 2000, he was recruited to assist in starting a lake mapping business - Lake Master in Little Falls, Mn. He was employed there for 12 years and was instrumental in creating a thriving company. When the company was sold to Johnson Outdoors, Jeff was free to pursue his dream of starting his own business. At the time of his passing, he was CEO/Owner of Arrow Mapping in Brainerd. Jeff enjoyed deer hunting with his dad, brothers, uncle and nephew, occasional fishing trips and being with family. He will be remembered for his smile, great laugh and easy-going personality.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Wally & Judy Hedlund of Long Prairie; brothers: Chris Hedlund of Cold Spring and Jason (Melonie) Hedlund, niece Lydia and nephew Grady of Excelsior, Mn and several uncles, aunts and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Walter & Mabel Hedlund and Mike & Rose Illies; aunt, Marlys Hedlund; aunt & uncle, Rita (Illies) & Bill Marty, uncle, Jerome Illies, uncle, Pete Asmus and cousins, Frank Marty and Neil Marty.
