Jane Browen, 68 yr. old of Long Prairie, passed away with her at her home surrounded by her family on June 1, 2023.

A  Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie at 11:00 AM.

A rosary will be prayed that morning at 9:45 AM with visitation following until the start of mass. 

Jane Marie was born on July 18, 1954, on a hot summer day. She was welcomed by her parents, Jerome and Eldoris (Kamphenkel) Ostendorf, and would be one of the five children they would raise in rural Long Prairie. Jane graduated from Long Prairie High School and later attended Alexandria Technical College to further her education. In May of 1973, she married Reginald Browen, at the St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Their union was blessed with three children, Amy, Jill, and Michael, and they later added Charlie.  Jane worked at American Heritage bank in Long Prairie, caring for the customers and neighbors for over thirty years. When Jane was not working or chasing after the kids and Reg, she could be found in her flower beds, planning their next camping trip, or out for burger night with friends and family. Her greatest joy was becoming a grandma. She adored each minute with them and attended every activity, even if it was over video chat or YouTube.  They brought a smile to her face and a twinkle to her eye. Reggie and Jane celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May. Forever will be cherished the many memories they made together, along with her heart of gold and easy conversations, she will be missed forever.

On Thursday, Jun 1, 2023, Jane passed away at her and Reggie’s home surrounded by family after a long fight with cancer. Left behind to mourn her memory are her husband, Reggie; children, Amy Hall, Jill (Steve) Harren, Michael (Jessie) Browen; grandchildren, Brooklyn (Dallas), Alex, and Andrew Harren, Madison (Devon), Olivia, Ellaina and Joshua Hall, Nathan, Ryan, Brayden, and Landen Browen; siblings, Cindy (Lyle) Katterhagen, Larry (Roxie) Ostendorf, John Ostendorf, Steve (Kristi) Ostendorf; sisters-in-law, Nancy Friedriches and Julie (Gerald) VanValkenburg; brother-in-law, Richard Browen; many nieces, nephews, friends, and their fur baby Charlie. She was welcomed into heaven by her Parents, Jerome and Eldoris Ostendorf; parents-in-law, Ralph and Elaine; son-in-law, Ryan Hall; brothers-in-law, Garrett Browen, Earl Friedriches and Denise Proell; sister-in-law, Connie Proell.
