James St. George, age 67 of rural Browerville, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
A memorial service will take place in his honor on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Iten Funeral Home in Browerville. Visitation will take place from 12:30 PM till 1:00 PM. Burial with military honors will take place later that day at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.
James St. George was born on April 15, 1956, to Louis and Thelma (Morrison) St. George in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Washburn High School and at the age of 18, he joined the United States Army and became an MP (Military Police). There, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Driver and Marksman Badges. On September 10, 1975, he married the love of his life, Karin (Spears). James worked for UPS and security for the Minneapolis Institute of Art and enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings and spending time with family.
Every spring James enjoyed the breaking of open water, longer sunnier days and seeing the cherries and lilacs bloom. When James retired, he and Karin moved to the Staples/Browerville area and enjoyed their time together.
James leaves behind his beloved wife Karin, daughter Jamie (Mario) Zapata, granddaughter Maya St. George, sisters: Janice (Les) Klos, Sharon (Paul) Hollen, Tina Gambler and many extended family and friends.
James is preceded in death by his mother Thelma St. George, sister Donna Richardson, and cousins; Bruce Dewald and Darlene Wiebe.
