Irene Kotula, 87, of Clarissa, passed away on July 21, 2020. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa with Fr. Mitchell Bechtold officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Clarissa.
Irene was born September 9, 1932, in Wykeham Township, Todd County, to Adolph & Elsie (Halbrehder) Moller. She graduated from Eagle Bend High School. After graduation Irene attended the College of St. Scholastica where she earned her teaching degree. Irene taught school in Brainerd and Clarissa. She married George Perish at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa on June 15, 1955. After George’s passing in 1977, Irene married Melvin Kotula on August 11, 1983 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa. She enjoyed traveling and watching T.V.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents; husband George Perish, husband Melvin Kotula, son Lynn Perish and brother Kenneth Moller.
Irene is survived by her children: Valerie (Vern) Petersen of Foley, Lydell (Denise) Perish of Eagle River, Alaska, Lorne (Vicki) Perish of Clarissa; step-children: Michael Kotula of Browerville and Steve (Sherry) Kotula of Blackduck; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; siblings: Jim Moller of Lester Prairie and Eva (Tony) Schmitz of Wadena.
