Ione Perish of Long Prairie passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Ione was 99.5 years old.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville at 10:00 AM with Father Omar Guanchez officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday evening September 15, 2023 at the Iten Funeral Home chapel. Rosary will be prayed at 3:45 PM, followed by a visitation until the prayer service which will start at 7:00 PM.

Visitation the day of the funeral will be at the church one hour prior to the start of Mass. Burial will follow mass at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family or St. Mary's of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Ione passed away peacefully in her Long Prairie home on September 5, 2023, at the age of 99.5.  Ione grew up on a farm and chose to continue the tradition and raise her family on a dairy farm outside of Browerville. She took great pride in her farm and her herd of dairy cows; her standards were high, and she always worked to qualify for Grade A milk. Throughout her 99 and a half years, Ione loved to travel.  She also never turned down an opportunity to fish, often cooking it as the family meal that day. She started and ended most days with a little bit of chocolate to sooth her never ending sweet tooth.  Ione was an amazing hostess, cooking and attending to everyone’s needs. She always made extra’s, her homemade bread was hands down the best! And to top it off, she would make strawberry rhubarb jam to top it with. The aroma and taste of her fresh bread with her homemade jam, brings mouthwatering memories. After retiring and selling the farm, Ione moved to a house in Long Prairie, this is where she lived until she took her last breath here on earth.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward; daughter, Leone “Lee”; daughters in-law, Karen and Patrica; brothers, David (Irene) Dreher, and Willard “Bud” Dreher; sisters, Ermadine (Homer) Stamper and Ramona (Ray) Lambrecht.

She is survived by her children, Edward (Joy) Perish, Gerald Perish, Alan Perish, Darlene (Lockwood) Carlson, Roy (Teresa) Perish, and Lora (Michael) Conte; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren with 3 on the way; 1 great-great grandchild; sister-in-law Elsie Dreher; and many nieces and nephews.
