March 28, 1928 ~ January 15, 2022 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Grace Cline Obituary

Grace Rose Cline went home to be with her Lord Jesus on January 15, 2022.  She passed peacefully with family by her side.  A Celebration of Life for Grace will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at the River of Life Church in Long Prairie.  Visitation for Grace will begin at 1:00 p.m., at the church.  Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Browerville.

Grace was born March 28, 1928, to John & Mabel Dvorak of rural Todd County.  Grace attended Fawn Lake Country School through the 8th grade.  At the age of 16, Grace worked in an apple orchard owned by her aunt and uncle in the state of Washington.  When Grace was 17, she studied with the Minnesota Art Studio in Minneapolis by mail.  Grace won an award for her sketching in a contest plus was in an art show in Milaca at the age of 90. 

On May 19, 1947, Grace married Clifton John Cline at the United Methodist Church in Long Prairie.  The couple lived on a dairy farm north of Browerville.  Grace helped with the farming, taking care of the home, canning, and making homemade bread & Jelly.  She also raised vegetables and flower gardens.  Grace enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining guests.  She made special beautiful cakes for all occasions for family and friends.  Grace’s many hobbies included gardening, reading, picking berries in the woods, collecting dolls, needlepoint, painting, sketching, fishing, bird watching, decorating her home for the holidays; especially Christmas and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. 

Grace was a member of the Long Prairie Assembly of God Church where she served.  She also served on the Staples Women’s Christian Board.  Grace helped in the Awana program at the Staples Alliance Church teaching children.  She had a strong faith and loved her Lord Jesus.

Grace is survived by her children:  Diane Johnstone, Sharon (Dan) Wilkins, Clif (Ellen) Cline; brother Bob (Shirley) Dvorak; grandchildren:  Christopher (Sara) Johnstone, Michael (Joni) Johnstone, Joshua Johnstone, Clif (Jill) Cline, Jon Cline, Elizabeth (John) Evans, Emily (Mike) Drelling, Valerie Cline; 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifton, son Charles, son-in-law David Johnstone, grandson Joseph Cline, great-granddaughter Kristin Johnstone;  siblings:  Alice Cline, Joyce Dvorak, Frank Dvorak, brothers-in-law Wesley Cline, Lyle Cline, Harry Cline; sisters-in-law:  Joyce Dvorak, Ruby Dvorak, June Cline and Beatrice Cline.
