Gerald “Jerry” Francis Pachan

Gerald “Jerry” Pachan of Avon, formerly Eagle Bend, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, at the St.Cloud Hospital.  Jerry was 57 years old.

Gerald “Jerry” Pachan was born on March 9, 1964, one of eight children of Edward and Doris (Notch) Pachan. He graduated from Eagle Bend High School in 1982 and then attended Wadena Vo -Tech and earned an associate's degree in automotive mechanics.  He later returned to St. Cloud State University, obtaining a degree in social work. He worked a variety of different jobs until he was too ill to do so.  Jerry had many visits to the clinic and hospitals throughout the years, making friends with doctors and nurses and greeting everyone he met with positivity.  He had been dealing with many health issues since age 11, due to complications from Juvenile Diabetes.  Jerry was best known as the funny guy. No matter what life threw his way, he maintained an upbeat attitude finding something positive in each day- laughing and making jokes along the way. He loved to make people laugh!

His hobbies included anything to do with Cars and Trucks: fixing, buying and selling, watching football on Saturdays and Sundays (Especially the MN Vikings), spending quality time with family and friends, and he will be fondly remembered as loving his time spent on the farm and at his friend’s ranch with the animals and in the great outdoors!

Jerry passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He is preceded in death by his brother, Ron Pachan and his grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Edward and Doris (Notch) Pachan of Eagle Bend; siblings, David Pachan of Browerville, Dan (Lynette) Pachan of Browerville, Nancy (Gregg) Harren of Eagle Bend, Mark (Teresa) Pachan of Long Prairie, Chuck (Kristy) Pachan of Albany, Lisa (Jack) Dempsey of River Falls, WI; and his many nieces, nephews and friends.
