George Joseph Sovich was born April 24, 1942, to George and Louise (Klimek) Sovich in Bertha, MN. George had the ambition to be busy from day one and that continued throughout his life. In his younger years, he was the captain of a softball team in the Twin Cities and worked for Shamrock Meatway from 1956 until 1971. On November 3, 1962, he married Margaret Krosch at Christ the King Catholic Church, their union was blessed with six children, David, Diane, Dennis, Dean, Dale and Donna. In November of 1971, the family moved back to the Browerville area as George then became an employee of Land O Lakes. While raising his family, George volunteered at the church and coached basketball for the Christ the King School. George retired in 2005 from Land O Lakes. Because sitting still was not George’s way, he began working for Walmart, just to stay busy until 2010, when it was officially time to retire, again. George did find time for fishing and gardening and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Browerville.
Left to honor George’s memory is his wife of 62 years Margaret; their children, David (Sharon) Sovich, Diane Peterson, Dennis Sovich, Dean (Leslie) Sovich and Dale (Andrea) Sovich; sisters, Alvina Sovich and Jane (Randy) Reed; brothers, Tony ‘Antone’ (Kay) Sovich and Jerome ‘Jerry’ (Dannie) Sovich and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Proceeding George in his death is his daughter Donna Sovich; parents George and Louise Sovich; and siblings, Richard Sovich, Linda Sovich, and Rita Sovich.
