Florence Hoel, 94, of Shoreview, passed away on January 30, 2020.  Funeral services for Florence will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020, 1:00 p.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. Mitchell Bechtold officiating.  Interment will be held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, Browerville. 

Florence was born June 13, 1925, in Hartford Township, Todd County, to Vincent & Mary (Perish) Kurpiers.    She married Howard Hoel on May 29, 1948, at St. Pascals Catholic Church in St. Paul.  They made their home in St. Paul for more than 30 years.  Howard and Florence moved to Browerville in 1987 after his retirement and in 2009 moved to Long Prairie.     In 2013, they moved to the Shoreview Senior Living.  Florence enjoyed visiting with her friends, gardening and especially playing scrabble and cards.  She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Florence is survived by her children:  Greg (Debbie) Hoel of Inver Grove Heights, Mark (Linda Warfield) Hoel of Minneapolis, Dave (Sandy) Hoel of Lino Lakes, Dan (Debby) Hoel of Longville, Barb (Craig) Gonsior of Forest Lake, Bob (Pam) Hoel of Scandia; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; siblings:  Victor (Mildred) Kurpiers of Browerville and Sister Stephen of St. Cloud.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard in 2014, son Ronald Hoel in 1998 and six siblings.
