Babe, was born on September 9, 1957, to Roy and Eva (Dirkes) Buhl of Browerville, Minnesota. Eva was the third “Eva” in the family line, so from the beginning they started calling her Babe, and it stuck. Babe graduated from Browerville High School in 1975 and soon after met the love of her life, Stanley Spychalla. Stan knew from the start that Babe was the one! The couple were wed April 29, 1978 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville, MN. The couple rented a house in town for about a year and then took a leap, bought land out in the country, and built what would be their forever home. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Nicholas, Stephanie, and Chantel. Even after 43 years of marriage, Stans heart would still skip a beat every time he would see Babe’s red blazer pull into the driveway. Babe ran a daycare for family and friends when the kids were little and then started working outside of the home, but her family was her everything. She was a natural caregiver, fussing over the kids and even Stan. Her generous heart poured out to everyone who met her. Babe loved flowers and spent hours working on the flower beds, making them breathtaking with color, bringing a smile to her face. She spent her down time tending to her pets which included deer, cats, dogs and many other stray critters that found their way into her heart. She enjoyed watching Family Feud, Hallmark movies and Animal Planet. Babe loved spending the evening with Stan, going for rides around the property, and making dinner. Sharing a glass of wine with family or friends while relaxing in the hot tub was one of the things she enjoyed doing at the end of her day. She enjoyed watching her grandkids do or play anything they had interest in and always encouraged and supported them. This selfless grandma loved spoiling the grandkids, filling their bellies with cookies, and their hearts with love and hugs.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Roy Buhl; maternal grandparents; and infant sister, Mary Buhl.
Babe is survived by her devoted husband, Stanley Spychalla; children, Nicholas Spychalla, Stephanie (Gigi) Discher, and Chantel (Josh) Kunerth; grandchildren, William Lorentz-Spychalla, Kolbi Kunerth, Reid Spychalla, Shelby Kunerth, mother; Eva Buhl (Dirkes), mother and father in law, Bud and Laurie (Lyszchyn) Spychalla siblings; Theresa (Lloyd) Zellgert, William (Renae) Buhl, Roy (Karen) Buhl Jr.; sister and brother in laws, Val Spychalla, Tina (Pete) Luberts, Lisa (Doug) Kraus, Tracy Hanson, Kyle (Tina) Spychalla; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
