Deloris Burns

Deloris Elaine was born on May 31, 1932 the daughter of Arthur and Verna (Anderson) Radueg of rural Eagle Bend, Minnesota. Deloris graduated from Eagle Bend High School. After graduation Deloris helped on her parent's dairy farm, and worked at the local dime store.  On Feb 2, 1951, Deloris married Mr.  Wayne Burns of Clarissa. The couple made their home in Clarissa, where their union was blessed with two sons, Terry and Randy, and a daughter Jodie.

Deloris worked at times at Jesse’s a local jewelry and dime store, but her main focus of life was her family at home. She worked on making their home warm and inviting.  She welcomed her children's friends, family members and neighbors with an open door and her inviting   chocolate chip cookies. Christmas time was one of her favorites, making tons of goodies to share. She had a famous date log cookie.  When Deloris was not busy tending to the children and home, she would spend her spare time teaching ceramics classes, this was her labor of love.  She also made quilts with the local church group and crafts.

Her strong-willed nature helped her with the strength to take care of their home, when Wayne was gone as an over the road truck driver. After he passed away in September of 2000, Deloris moved for ten years to Moorhead, to live closer to her daughter. After the ten years Deloris moved back to Clarissa to an assisted living until it was time to move to the nursing home.

On December 29, 2020 Deloris went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 88.  She is survived by her sons, Terry (Barb) Burns and Randy Burns; grandchildren, Melissa (Jake) Burns, Jeremy Burns, Bradley Burns, Tyler (Ashley) Burns, Jennifer (John) Naumann, Mitchel (Gennifer) Reierson, Brianna Manston and Mason; 6 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Verna Radueg; husband, Wayne Burns; and daughter, Jodie.

A private family service will take place in the coming days with a burial at Woodman Cemetery in Clarissa, MN
