Dale Wesley Heuer, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on January 13, 2026.

Dale was raised in rural South Dakota, where he worked alongside his father on the family farm from a young age. Those early years shaped his strong work ethic and love for the land. He later served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Following his military service, Dale returned home and drove truck, hauling milk for local dairies. Dale went down to the big city to spend time with his brother Arlen, it was while there that he met his future wife, Sherrie GeRoy.  Vb  The two were united in marriage and in 1969, Dale and Sherrie purchased a farm near Osakis, where they made their home and raised their family. They farmed for many years, selling their cattle in 1984. Dale then began working at the Larson Boat factory in Little Falls, where he remained until his retirement.

Family was the heart of Dale’s life. He and Sherrie were blessed with four children: Jeffrey, Vicki, and Roni. Dale was known for celebrating birthdays and holidays with the entire family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

After retirement, Dale enjoyed the simple things in life. He dearly loved the different dogs that he had over the years, Tippy, Muffin, and Dora, who he cherished as companions. He especially enjoyed driving in the rural countryside on his red Polaris Ranger, often with his dog riding along. Dale also loved fishing, working on his Minneapolis Moline tractors, and spending time outdoors tinkering with anything mechanical.

His favorite pastime was attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, where he could be found proudly cheering them on. Dale’s steady presence, encouragement, and devotion to family will be deeply missed.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie Heuer; son Jeff Heuer and Dena; daughters Vicki Anderson and Roni Allen; grandchildren Jason Anderson, Joshua (Rachel) Anderson, Joel (Marnita) Anderson, Hannah (Derek) Stoetzel, Weston (Morgan) Heuer, Vanessa Heuer, Katelyn Payne, and Ivy Payne; and great-grandchildren Ethan (Emily) Anderson, William Anderson, Harold Anderson, Mahala Anderson, Isaiah Anderson, Annalynn Anderson, Julia Anderson, Sophie Stoetzel, Nika, and Hank.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Elsie (Wellnitz) Heuer; infant son Kevin; siblings Gerald, Ervin, Leslie, Vernon, Arlen, Harvey, and Vera; and sons-in-law Mark Anderson and Jon Allen.
