Colby Keith Marcyes

Colby Marcyes, of rural Eagle Bend, passed away, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Galeon Home in Osakis. Colby was 73 years old.

At this time there will be no services scheduled for Colby, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of transition in their lives. 

Colby was born on July 16, 1948, the son of Leslie and Margaret (Opager) Marcyes of Long Prairie. Colby from a young age enjoyed being out in the great outdoors. He became an avid fisherman. He had the ability that if he wanted to learn something, he could do it. He was good at everything!  On November 26, 1966, Colby married miss Mildred “Millie” Kortuem at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa. Their union was blessed with two sons, Jeffrey and Dustin.

Colby picked up the trade of welding from his father and father-in-law, he worked most of his adult career at Continental Bridge, prior to that he worked at Knox lumber in St. Paul. When he was not busy working, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pool and being outdoors working with his bobcat. He was musically talented in that he could tickle the keys of a piano and play accordion with the best of them.

Colby as a character and enjoyed joking around and having fun. The joy he brought to his family and friends’ lives will be deeply missed.

Colby passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Galeon Nursing Home in Osakis. He is survived by his wife, Millie; children, Jeffrey Marcyes and Dustin (Katherine) Marcyes; grandchildren, Stephanie, Chentelle, and Nathanial; great-grandchildren, Lilliana, and Layla; sister, Juanita Fischer; sister-in-law, Leona Marcyes. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sheldon Marcyes; brother-in-law, Robert Fischer.
