Charles (Chuck) Moller, 58, passed away unexpectedly on May, 25, 2020. Born on Jan. 19, 1962 to Lorraine (Morawczynski) and Kenneth Moller, he was raised on a farm in Eagle Bend, MN. He graduated from Eagle Bend High School in 1980, where he excelled in football and wrestling. He was a high school championship wrestler and is listed in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Chuck earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education at University of Minnesota-Morris in 1986 and continued on to North Dakota State University for his graduate studies in athletic administration and physical education. He had over 30 years of football coaching experience to include assistant coach at North Dakota State, Pittsburg State, Southwest Texas State, New Mexico, Stanford, Oklahoma State, and then as head coach at University of MN-Crookston. He coached with several National Football Coach of the Year Winners, coached on two Div. 2 national championship teams, and in eight bowl games including: The Rose Bowl, Cotton, Alamo, and Houston. He recruited/coached over 30 NFL Athletes. The importance he stressed on academics is evident by the 31 Academic All-Americans he coached, and his own status as a college Academic All-American. The past three years he was the head football coach at Bradshaw Mountain High School in Arizona where a second season start of 7-0 lead them to the state playoffs.
Chuck loved to fish and golf; doing both within the same day would be a perfect day for him. He had many stories to share—some life lessons, and some tall tales with just enough truth to make them believable! Chuck’s friendly personality was such that he either had friends or made friends wherever he went.
He will be greatly missed by his players--recent and past, friends, family, and especially the two children he shared with Kris: Zach and Mackenzie.
Chuck is survived by his wife Kris, children Zach and Mackenzie, his mother Lorraine Woge, siblings Bruce (Malva), Janet (Mark) Nauman, Ron (Sue), and Roger (Karen) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father Kenneth Moller and Stepfather Harold Woge.
Celebration of Life will be held in Eagle Bend, MN at Nelson Park on July 18, 2020 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
