Carolyn Rae (Woodworth) Miller of Clarissa, Minnesota passed away peacefully at St. Cloud Hospital on Tuesday morning, February 22, 2022. She was 81 years old. A memorial service will take place on Monday, February 28 starting with the visitation at 10:00 am and memorial service at 11:00 am at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa. The interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley at 2 pm.
Carolyn was born on May 5, 1940 in Venus, Nebraska to Shirley and Irvin Woodworth Sr. Her senior year of high school, she moved with her family to Minnesota and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1957. Following graduation, she attended secretary school in Minneapolis. Carolyn met Ruben Miller at The Prom dance hall in Minneapolis. After much persuasion, she became his dance partner for life. They were married on January 27, 1962 and were happily married until his death in 1996. Carolyn and Ruben owned Miller’s Food Market in Clarissa for many years. She also worked as a waitress at Coffe Cup Cafe and a nurse’s aide at CTCCC and at Long Prairie Nursing Home.
She loved gardening and had a green thumb like no one else. She could make anything grow, especially her violets. She also loved reading her romance books. Above all else she loved her family
Carolyn is survived by her sister Linda (Bob) Sudbeck, brother Dennis (Christine) Woodworth, brother Skip (LaRae) Woodworth, sister-in-laws Linda Woodworth and Henrietta Miller; children: Roxanna (Rick) Stillwell of Colorado; Rob Miller of Washington; Ron (Karen) Miller of Bertha; Tim Miller of Georgia; Teri Miller of Colorado; Jennifer Miller of Deer Creek; and Nancy Miller of Duluth. She also is survived by twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Ruben, her parents Shirley and Irwin, Sr., her brothers Larry and Phil, sister Phyllis, sister-in-law Carmen, and granddaughter Taaylor Kay.
