It is with great sorrow we announce the death of Caroline Statema, 88 years old of Long Prairie on Friday, October 31, 2025.

A memorial service in her honor will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Iten Funeral Home Chapel in Browerville at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be at the home from 1:00 PM till the start of the service. Burial will take place following the service at the Evergreen Cemetery in Browerville.

Caroline Annabell was born on October 4, 1937, to Hank and Anna Chakel of Turtle Creek Township on Rice Lake.  Caroline attended county school and graduated from Staples High School in 1956.  Caroline married Calvin Statema on June 15, 1957, at Randall Presbyterian Church.  The couple had three children together,  Constance Marie Zetah (Kenneth) of Motley, Carrie Eve Statema of Little Falls, and Carol Jean Peterson (Jody) of Swanville.

Caroline enjoyed working for many years on the family farm.  Caroline was an AVON Consultant, owned and operated “Pine Grove Ceramics” out of her home, worked at Land 0 Lakes in Browerville, McCourtney Plastics in Staples, and Herbies Catering with her Bestie Joyce and (John) Gorka. Caroline was an avid cookbook collector.  Caroline was known for her love of cooking and baking.

Left to cherish her memory are her three girls, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, Connie Statema, Cousin Jane Motzko, and many other Cousins.
