Carol Lee (Martin) Marlow Obituary

Carol Marlow passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at St. Cloud Hospital. Carol was 78 years old.

A memorial service in her honor will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Iten Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour before the service. Burial will immediately follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Browerville.

Carol Lee was born on May 18, 1947, the daughter of Raymond and Twila (McNamara) Martin in Little Falls, Minnesota. She met and married the love of her life, James “Jim” Marlow on August 1, 1964. The young couple purchased land just on the edge of town in Browerville and raised their three children, Lisa, James “Jay”, and Jodi, there. Jim ran a construction company, and Carol helped with the bookwork and worked at the DAC and as a nursing assistant at the Clarissa Nursing Home. The job Carol was most proud of was her 27-year career at the Todd County Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher and jailer.

When she wasn’t working, Carol could often be found quilting, baking, or crafting something beautiful. She had a gift for creativity, whether it was putting together picture books, making flower bouquets, or designing cakes. She attended quilt camps with her daughters and friends, finding joy in sharing her talents with others. Deeply proud of her town, she was active in the Browerville Bicentennial, helping preserve and celebrate its history. Carol also loved being part of the Red Hat Club, where friendship, laughter, and good conversations always made her smile. Carol treasured every moment with her family. From road trips to North Dakota and vacationing in Florida, to attending Pow Wows with her grandchildren, she enriched their lives in countless ways. She never passed up a shopping trip or watching QVC and had a true gift for creating lasting memories. A beloved mom and grandma, she will be deeply missed.

Left to carry on Carol’s memories are her children, Lisa (Steve) Riggs, James “Jay” Marlow, Jodi Marlow; Grandchildren, Derek (Christa) Clark, Devin (Kayla) Clark, Trace (Ellie) Clark, Jesse Marlow, Mitch Marlow, Levi (Molly) Marlow, Codi (Leslie) Marlow, Kae$ha Marlow, Aaron (Morgan) Peterson, Kassidi (Dalton) Ehresmann; Great Grandchildren, Declan, Brecken, Lena, Melanie, Jace, Luka, Reese, Ryker, Tucker, Ayla, Brielle, Westin, and Tate;  Nephew, Shawn (Erika) Ocken; cat Toby; and many friends she met along the way.  Proceeding Carol in death are her husband, James “Jim” Marlow; parents, Ray and Twila Martin; and sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Gary Van Sickle; and dogs Brutus and Lucy.
