Betty (Wolf) Maland passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at her home in rural Eagle Bend, surrounded by her family. She was 77 years old.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in rural Little Falls later that day.
Betty Jane was born on October 6, 1944, the eleventh child out of fourteen to Gasper and Dorothy (Miller) Wolf. Betty attended grade school in Eagle Bend. She later met Mr. Eldon Maland and the two were united in marriage on April 21, 1962. The two were blessed with five children, Lonnie, Denise, Karrie, Brian, and Eugene. The couple raised their family in rural Eagle Bend, where they enjoyed country living and watching their children play in the great outdoors. She enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and fishing. When Betty was not chasing the kids, she enjoyed sitting peacefully reading a good book which sometimes would turn into a little cat nap. She also enjoyed baking some of her delicious cookies. Christmas was her favorite baking season! Out came the cut outs and other traditional recipes, to share with family and friends. She was a member of the Eagle Bend VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and worked for CTCCC for a short time. Betty also worked diligently on having a clean house and helping the kids pick up. She was a loving, caring, strong-willed woman who would do anything for anyone. She gave amazing hugs and loved on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty collected angels, they can be found all over her house, bringing peace and comfort to all who enter. On Thursday, July 21, 2022, Betty passed away and went to be with her Lord and heavenly Angel. She was 77 years old. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Lonnie (Ron) Sandmeyer, Denise (Scott) Asmus, Karrie (Jeff) Tesch, Brian (Cathy) Maland, and Eugene (Barbie) Maland; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; Siblings, Don Wolf, Alice Maland, Shirley Gadbaw, Dan Wolf, Jim Wolf, Cal Wolf and Howard Wolf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; grandson, Ryan; and her parents, Gasper and Dorothy Wolf; siblings Walter Wolf, Gasper Wolf Sr., Roger Wolf, Dorothy Smith, Margaret Rausch and Liz Maland.
