Bethel Marie Brichacek, age 95, of Browerville, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville. A rosary will be prayed that morning at 9:45 AM at the church, followed by a visitation until the start of the service. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the church cemetery.

Bethel Marie Shannon was born to Edgar and Mary Shannon at home on Christmas Day, 1930 In Leader, Minnesota.  She had four older brothers, Orville, Walter, Vern, and David.

She went to country school in Leader and graduated from high school in 1947 in Motley, Minnesota.  She attended Teachers Training in Staples and taught in various country schools in Todd County.

Bethel married George Brichacek on June 9, 1949, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley, Minnesota.  To this union was born six children: Bradley, Rickey, Kerry, Kristi, Lonnie, and Kimberly.

Bethel loved playing Tripoli, sewing, embroidery and baking.  Her homemade Long Johns were a family favorite.  She was a member of the Todd County Homemakers, Moran Mixers, and on the Council at the Colonial Terrace in Clarissa, Minnesota.

Bethel is survived by her children: Rickey (Marilyn), Kerry (Denny Finn), Kristi (Ken) Biermaier, Kimberly (Ken) Wuollet, and daughter in law Patricia; 18 Grandchildren, 38 Great Grandchildren, and 12 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by George, her husband of 69 years, and her sons Bradley and Lonnie.
