Beatrice Frances was born at her parent’s home in rural Browerville, on February 21, 1933. She was one of nine children to Anthony “Tony” and Mary (Benning) Bednarz. She attended country school until the eighth grade and then continued to work on her family farm. She eventually got on a bus to move to little Falls to look for work. While on her bus ride she met another woman who talked her into going further to Minneapolis to experience the big city. The woman introduced her to her friends who gave her a place to stay and helped her get her first job at a nickel and dime store. She eventually heard of the Munsingwear sewing factory. Beatrice had no sewing skills, but they hired her because of her strong farm girl work ethic. She eventually learned the trade which led to a lifetime of sewing for family, friends, and many others.

Beatrice met Mr. Lloyd Laumeyer while home visiting family and friends at the long Prairie Roller Rink. Lloyd took one look at Beatrice and knew she was the one. The couple was united in marriage at the Church the King Catholic Church in Browerville on April 25, 1954. The young couple was blessed with four children, Char, Steve, Kevin, and Mary. They raised their young family just outside of Long Prairie on the family farm. Beatrice soon put her sewing skills and talent to work putting great detail into the clothing that she sewed, this detail was noticed by others and she started getting requests to have things made. So Beatrice started her own sewing business, which included crafts, making stuffed animals, women’s clothing and jackets, baby clothes, and a large variety of Barbie apparel and accessories. Lloyd and Beatrice traveled together going to art and craft shows all over central Minnesota. Enjoying the time together, and meeting other crafters and customers. Her detailed work on Barbie clothes, tents, and sleeping bags, made many young children’s playtime more fun. Beatrice was a hardworking, creative person, who loved to visit and share her talents with others, teaching many how to make the crafts or clothing that she made. She did all this while working alongside Lloyd on the farm, raising their four kids, and attempting to keep a tight ship. She made baby quilts, and crafts and donated them to the Christian mother's group.

Beatrice passed away peacefully at the age of 89, on Thursday, September 1, 2022. She leaves behind her loving husband of 68 years, Lloyd; children, Char (Tim), Steve, Kevin (Pam), and Mary (Jim); grandchildren, Kelly (Curt), Meghan (Phil), Kyle (Laura), Molly, Melissa, Michelle, Bryan (Alicia), Bridget (Andrew), Andrew (Taylor); brothers, Dennis (Joyce), Tony (Deb) and Jerry (Jeannie). She joined in heaven, her parents, Anthony and Mary Bednarz; sisters, Ellie Delkoski, and Rose Currie; brothers, Joe, Jim, and Dave.
