Arthur was born January 25, 1931, in Iona Township of Todd County to Razel & Marie (Christensen) Davison. In 1951, Arthur enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a mechanic, primarily working on jet engines. This was the start of a twenty-year career serving his country. He retired from the Air Force on February 1st, 1972.

Bud met the love of his life, Jeanette Akin. The two were united in marriage on May 6, 1956. Their union was blessed with two daughters. The couple, after he retired from the military, purchased a farm west of Long Prairie, Minnesota, where they raised their family. When Bud was not busy working or caring for his family, he enjoyed casting a line into a local lake and big game hunting. He wasn’t often found with idle hands, he often fixed old cars or relaxed while reading a good book. He was an active member of the Shepherd of the Valley Church, a member of the American Legion 213 and a lifetime member of the VFW 1140 post.

In his lifetime, Arthur either traveled or served his country, in all 50 states plus Canada, Japan, Philippines, and Vietnam. His favorite destination of all was being home with his family. He was a loving husband and father, and becoming Grandpa was a true honor and blessing to him. He was a calm presence to the family and enjoyed joking around with his kids, grandkids and friends. His generous heart and the twinkle in his eye will be deeply missed by those who loved and had the opportunity to call him friend.

He leaves behind his daughters, Laura (Jeff) Merrill, and Cynthia Cox; five grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one niece; three nephews; and sister-in-law, Laura Davison.
