She was born in Browerville, MN to Irma (Dorosh) Biermaier and Joseph Biermaier. She was the second child of three children born into this family. She attended school in Browerville, MN and graduated with the class of 1957. It was during these years that she met the love of her life, James (Jim) Motzko.
They were married on April 13, 1959, at the St Joseph Church in Clarissa, MN. They resided on a farm in rural Long Prairie where they started to raise their family. In January 1969 the family moved to Waseca, MN where they continued to raise their five children. Mom was employed as a manager of a local motel during these years. In 1996 Mom and Dad returned home to Browerville, MN, where they resided in a house out in the country.
Mom had many interests during her life, one of which was watching or listening to the Twins baseball games. She was their number one fan. She loved to play cards, and she was tough to beat. She also enjoyed fishing and sewing. Mom would cook meals that we swore could feed a small army and no one left the table hungry. She would often remark that it was “nothing fancy”, but it was good, nonetheless. Near the end of her life, when she had little strength, she always mustered up enough strength to say “popsicle” and that popsicle always brought a twinkle to her eye. Mom loved Dad and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She knew that the greatest gift in life was family, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband James Motzko, their five children: Gary (Lynette) Motzko; Carmen (Dann) Weske; Dan (Candi) Motzko; Janet (Kurt) Kuball; and Becky (Jeff) Lothert, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and one brother David Biermaier. She is preceded in death by her parents Irma and Joseph Biermaier, her sister Marie May, and daughter-in-law Kimberly Motzko. The family would like to thank the Long Prairie Care Center for their loving care and support for our wife/mother. Words cannot express our gratitude.
