Alice met her future husband when he visited his sister Wanda and husband Carl who rented from Alices parents; On August 14th, 1954, Alice and Ken were united in marriage. They welcomed their first child, Gary Lee, the following year. Some years later they were blessed with another child, Bonnie Kay. Shortly thereafter, Ken was elected Sheriff of Todd County. She also served as a matron, escorting the female prisoners as needed. Alice enjoyed participating in the local bowling league, card club, and was a member of the Long Prairie Fire Department Auxiliary. Although they rarely took vacations, Alice and Ken traveled by motorhome with friends to many states gathering souvenirs along the way. She started collecting mini spoons from her travels then cherished teddies and clowns. After Ken passed away, Alice frequently traveled to Del Rio Texas to escape the winter months; She was a Twins and Vikings fan. She also enjoyed singing, crocheting, embroidery, bird watching, baking sweet treats and especially spoiling her two grandchildren. Alice loved music and was often humming and singing spontaneously.
