Kathleen Johnson was born August 7, 1933 In Alexandria MN. She attended country school, Dist. #65 and Alexandria High School. She married Hardy Sjostrand and then was married to Herbert Johnson in 1977. Kathleen was a homemaker as well as an employee of the Homecrest Co. in Wadena. She was also a custodian for the Clarissa Bank and several churches. She grew up in Rose City area and attended The Rose City Evangelical Free Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School and was also a soloist for the church. While living in Clarissa she became a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church and was part of the quilting group and also the women's Bible Study. Kathleen loved to work in her garden and each year she added new flowers to beautify her yard. She was an excellent cook and baker and was often preparing holiday meals for family. She liked to travel and made trips with her husband and friends to several southern states and California. The fall season meant leaf peeking trips with her sister. The Lord called Kathleen home to be with her Savior on May 8, 2019. Services will be held May 15, 2019 at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa, MN at 11:00, visitation at 10:00. Internment at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Clarissa, MN. Kathleen will be missed by her siblings Rodney Anderson and Dorothy Loeffler, stepchildren Craig Johnson and Karen Jo Weibye as well as her step grandchildren: Joey Johnson, Katie Johnson, Nicole Johnson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death is her husband, Herbert Johnson; parents, Anton and Alice (Lundgren) Anderson, and stepson Clinton Johnson.
