Jim was born in Bertha, MN on June 25, 1938, to Joseph & Louise (Waletzko) Gaida. He grew up on a farm west of Browerville one of seven children and attended country school and then Browerville High School graduating in 1956. He married Charlotte Gaida. Jim enlisted and served in the United States Army, he lived and worked in Minneapolis where he worked as a Machinist for NAPCO Industries and Olson Tool Company. In 1977 Jim moved backed to Browerville where he worked at Hart Press as a Stitcher operator until he retired in 2007. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, pheasant hunting and was very passionate about deer hunting; never missing a season even while in the military saving his leave to come every deer season. Jim also enjoyed watching his son play softball. One of the most enjoyable things in Grandpa James life was watching his three grandsons grow up playing sports and performing in band and choir. Grandpa James rarely missed one of their events and was known as one of the BHS Tigers biggest fans, later in life he enjoyed spending time watching the Twins and Vikings with his daughter. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Jim is survived by his children: Susan Gaida, Long Prairie, Dan & (Denise) Gaida, Browerville; Grandchildren: Joseph (Kristi) Gaida; Clarissa, Jacob Gaida, Carlos, James Gaida, Browerville; Great Grand Baby due to arrive January of 2020; siblings: Rita Fuller, Laverne Busch, Gary Gaida, Jeannette (George) Irsfeld, Marc (Peg) Gaida and Judy (Ed) Daniels.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louise Gaida, Brothers in law, Don Fuller & Rodney Busch and Sister in law, Joyce Gaida.
