Butch was born on August 21, 1935, in Browerville, Minnesota to Edmund and Fay (Dann) Iten. He attended St. Peter’s Catholic School, graduated from Browerville High School and was drafted into the Navy. He worked of Land-O-Lakes, Cable Television and Harts Press. On February 20, 1958, he married Joan (Connor) Iten. His family included his children Cindy Iten, Patrick and Julie (Lucas) Iten, Grandchildren, Emily Hudalla, Seth Hudalla, Jacob Iten, Great-Grandchild Harrison Hudalla.
Butch enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting, and time at the cabin. He also volunteered for the Browerville Fire Department and Ambulance. He was a member of the City Council, American Legion Color Guard, Knights of Columbus, and an usher at Christ the King Catholic Church. Besides being a member of Christ the King Church, he was also a member of St. Lawrence of Rush Lake.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Fay Iten, brother-in-law Ron Skinner, and Sister-in-law Char (Remer) Iten. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, his sisters Arlie (Ray) Gonsior, Grantsburg WI, Rita Skinner, Merced, CA, Katherine (Ron) Wavra, East Grand Forks, brothers Jim Iten, Delano, Karl and Adelle (Olson) Iten, Hackensack, numerous nieces and nephews.
