Dennis was born July 17, 1947 in Belle River Township to Arnold and Anna (Fraisl) Berg. He was raised on the family farm, graduated from Osakis High School and enrolled in the electrician program at Wadena Technical School. Dennis served his country in the U.S. Army from July 21, 1966 until May 23, 1968 and was transferred to the Army Reserve. He married Ruth Klimek July 18, 1970 in Osakis and worked construction for several years and then partnered with Mike Klimek to start Klimek/Berg Construction; Dennis could also be found at his farm checking the herd with his cattle dog “Duke”. Dennis retired from construction in 2012 but remained farming. He served as the clerk for Burleene Township and as Trustee for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa.
Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, going camping, woodworking, being in the woods and visiting his children at mealtime and liked to cook when he had the time. He loved being on his farm and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his children, Jason (Heidi), Darren (Kristen), Jennifer (Jason) Korblick, Cory (Emily), Kelli (Josh Brichacek) May, Stacey (Joe) Iten, Trista (Jason) Rickbeil, Tyler (Angie Benning), Ashley (Tanner) Line; twenty five grandchildren, loving companion Dee Sjobeck, sister Elaine Grinstead and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Anna, wife Ruth, brothers Darrell, Bobbie, Leon and sisters Caroline, Magdalene and Vangie.
